This is the version update of the original Aluminum Kai theme by Kozakura Inko, that was officially adopted by me, when he ceased development on it.
Now renamed, Aluminium Kai 2, I have completed the version update for Firefox 2 and also added many new features and areas of interest, throughout the theme.
Many of the icons and graphics used in this theme are designed, created, made and copyrighted to Frank Lion, details upon request. Theme Preview and Downloads picture - 'Bamboo' with the kind permission of Robert N. Oddy
Here's a brief list of the changes to the last version of Aluminum Kai :
1. Updated for use with the latest Firefox 2 version.
2. Toolbar background remade to give a slightly darker effect on the right side, instead of just the left. Matching statusbar background added.
3. Hover state colour of Home and Reload changed, Stop had shade adjusted and all given a luminous quality. Luminous effect applied the Back/Forward.
4. Inactive tabs are now slightly higher and tab close buttons improved.
5. Green glass scrollbars, progressmeter balls and shaded scrolltracks added.
6. All Windows now fully themed using gradient/graphics effects to give a unifying identity throughout, including, Options window, Customize, Bookmarks Addons Manager, Option windows of extensions, etc.
7. Graduated backgrounds now on all Menus.
8. New 'secure' state background on Urlbar.
9. Dropdown arrows now have a consistent appearance throughout.
10. Complete restyle of Downloads window and Firefox 'About' window.
11. Searchbar given a Search History dropdown Menu, in addition to the Firefox 2, 'Search Suggestions' feature.
12. New Preview picture, based on 'Bamboo' by Robert N. Oddy, which is also seen in the Downloads window.
13. Sidebar now resizes from 40 pixels wide to 800 pixels.
14. Mail button added for Mail type extensions in Firefox 2.
Please note : The Download Window of this theme may be resized by dragging the bottom right corner of it. This is useful if you wish to see the download text more clearly.

The conversion of Aluminium Kai 2 for Firefox 3+ was completed in two stages. The first stage was version 3.1.6, which dealt primarily with the migration of this theme to use my normal Metal Lion code engine and ensuring good functionality and 'bug hunting'.
The next version, Version 3.3.3, dealt much more with the actual appearance side and creating a softer, more unified look. Apart from any possible bug fixes, this now is the finished look for Aluminium Kai 2 for Firefox 3+.

4. MAJOR recoding of the entire tab coding seen in the browser area. The tabs will look just the same, but needed this as : a.) AK2 was not going to version to Firefox 3 the way the tab code was. b.) AK2 was incompatible with my new HiViz extension for the visually disabled*. c.) Less importantly, the tab coding differences between AK2 and all my other ML themes, made working on AK2 harder than it needed to be. This recode has been thoroughly bugtested, including with Tab Mix Plus. However, if you do spot something we missed then please report it on my website.
5. AK2 is no longer compatible with Firefox 1.5 versions.
*In a number of updates recently, I have mentioned the Metal Lion HiViz extension. When testing with other themes is complete, it is my intention for this to be a standalone extension.
